Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of English Language and English Literature (GCSE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalised tutoring sessions to help students understand mathematical concepts, improve their problem-solving skills, and excel in their exams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective online tutoring sessions to GCSE and A Level students.
- Develop and implement personalised lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs and learning style.
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Assist students with homework, exam preparation, and coursework.
- Utilise Google Classroom, Google Meet, Docs, Slides, and Sheets to enhance the learning experience.
- Seek out and consistently update resources in the English Language and English Literature Folders on Google Drive for both students and colleagues to access and use.
- Break down complex concepts into simple, understandable terms.
- Maintain detailed records of students’ progress and achievements.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to discuss progress and address any concerns.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest educational practices and curriculum changes.

Requirements
Grade Requirements:
GCSE: Grade 8/9 in English Language and English Literature
A Levels: A/A* in English Language or English Literatre
Working Hour Requirements:
Should commit to working a minimum of 5 hours each week
Experience:
Previous experience as an English tutor or in a customer service role is desirable, but not essential

2. Good Organisational and Time-Management Skills

  - Capable of creating structured lesson plans and monthly student reports and keeping track of students' progress and assignments.
3. Google Suite Proficiency
  - Proficient in using Google Classroom for managing and delivering lessons.
  - Skilled in using Google Meet for virtual tutoring sessions.
  - Competent in creating and editing documents, presentations, and spreadsheets using Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets.
4. Excellent Subject Knowledge
  - Demonstrated by outstanding GCSE and A Level grades in Maths and Further Maths.
  - Up-to-date knowledge of the current curriculum and examination standards.
5. Ability to Simplify Complex Concepts
  - Skilled in breaking down intricate mathematical theories and problems into understandable segments.
  - Ability to use various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
6. Detail-Oriented
  - Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all instructional materials and assessments.
  - Capable of identifying and correcting errors in students' work.
7. Patience and Adaptability
  - Patient and understanding, able to support students through challenging concepts and periods of difficulty.
  - Adaptable to different teaching environments and student needs.
8. Technological Savvy
  - Comfortable with using educational technology and software to enhance learning experiences.
  - Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues during online sessions.
9. Problem-Solving Skills
  - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to help students understand and solve mathematical problems.
  - Creative in developing new ways to explain concepts and engage students.
10. Interpersonal Skills
  - Ability to build positive relationships with students, encouraging a supportive and motivating learning environment.
  - Effective in collaborating with other tutors, teachers, and educational staff.
